A year of giving back

Temple Challenge is giving back to the communities that have helped this program grow to an unbelievable reach in the past five years!  Every month of 2018, the TC community will focus on a new area and together, we'll make an even greater impact.

Check back every month to see how YOU can make a difference! And be sure to join us over on Facebook and share how you're embracing each month's challenge!

Ideas for January's recycling focus:

  • Collect plastic bottles, aluminum cans and cardboard at home or at work. {If you're drinking water like you should, you'll have plenty of water bottles!}
  • The week of January 29, bring all the recycling to the Elite Sports Center where everything will be collected and turned in.

Did you know?

  • If each American were to recycle 1/10th of their newspapers each year, we would save around 25 million trees!
  • Recycling just a single aluminum can saves enough energy to catch up on your favorite album on your smartphone and recycling 100 cans saves enough energy to keep the lights on in your bedroom for two weeks.
  • Recycling one ton of paper saves 682.5 gallons of oil, 7,000 gallons of water, and 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space.
  • Recycling a single plastic bottle can conserve enough energy to light a 60W bulb for up to six hours.
